Team BLADEN is a university korfball team based in Nara, Japan, formed by students from several universities, including Kyoto University, Nara University of Education. The team was established for the IKF U21 Asia-Oceania Korfball Championship in July, where many of our players gained international experience for the first time. Since then, we have been training hard, driven by the frustration and lessons from that tournament. The name “BLADEN” comes from the Dutch word for “leaves” and reflects the team’s desire to grow through many new experiences. Although some members are still new to korfball, they are eager to challenge themselves, learn as much as possible, and of course aim for victory in this competition. By taking part in this university tournament in Macau, BLADEN hopes to showcase an energetic style of korfball, build friendships with players from other regions, and take another step forward in its development as a team representing the young generation of korfball in Japan.
Team Korea is a university korfball team that began in 2006 and has grown around Seoul National University of Education (SNUE). Although the team went through a difficult period during COVID-19, it began rebuilding in 2022, bringing in new members and regaining its strength through steady effort.
In the summer of 2025, Team Korea hosted the Korea Cup, an international korfball tournament featuring teams from several countries. The event marked an important milestone in expanding awareness of korfball in Korea.
Team Korea plays with strong teamwork and unwavering passion. By supporting each other in every moment of the game, we strive to deliver our best performance and show the potential of Korean korfball on the international stage. Through this tournament, we hope to build meaningful connections with teams from other regions and continue growing as representatives of korfball in Korea.
Formed recently for the 2025 AUSC International University Korfball4 Open Championship, the Malaysia University Team brings together committed and passionate student-athletes from various universities across the country. This is a significant moment for Malaysia as it represents one of the earliest coordinated efforts to develop korfball at the university level, not only within Malaysia but also within the wider ASEAN and Asian sporting community.
The team was assembled with the goal of providing young athletes with meaningful international exposure, encouraging them to push their limits, and fostering a new generation of korfball players who will contribute to the sport’s long-term growth. Although newly formed, the team embodies strong values—discipline, teamwork, respect, and the true spirit of fair play. Each athlete brings a unique background and strengths, but they share one common purpose: to proudly represent Malaysia on this new journey.
Participation in this championship also reflects Malaysia’s commitment to strengthening ties with universities across the region, creating a platform for cultural exchange, friendship, and collaborative development. Beyond competition, the players look forward to learning from their peers, gaining new insights, and experiencing the unity that defines korfball as a mixed-gender, inclusive sport.
